In the summer of 2023, my career was firmly rooted in the technology sector.
I had spent years immersed in the tech world, mastering complex systems and nurturing a lifelong love for education. But despite my passion for learning new things, I had hit a plateau.
I realized I was no longer growing at the pace I desired, and I kept returning to a simple but powerful belief: an investment in education always pays the best interest. I am getting early results.
The true spark came from a burning curiosity to understand how the broader business world actually works.
I didn't just want to execute technical tasks. I wanted to understand the overarching strategies driving corporate decisions.
To find clarity, I attended sample classes at both the University of Chicago Booth and the Kellogg School of Management.
Both are top-ranked and incredible, making the choice difficult. Ultimately, Booth's uniquely flexible curriculum stood out to me, and I decided to aim high and give it a try.
Making the decision to aim for Booth meant facing some heavy realities. The pressure points were immediate and stressful.
Do the steep fees actually justify the education? What is the real return on investment going to be? Beyond the finances, the personal stakes were incredibly high.
I had to ask myself hard questions about whether I could survive such a rigorous program while balancing my family, my full-time work, and my other responsibilities.
The fear of dropping the ball on my family or failing to manage the intense workload was a very real, heavy weight that made me question if this path was even possible.
I submitted the application with all the necessary details and all went well including the Interview.
A few weeks later, I received my acceptance letter to start the program in the summer of 2024. I stepped into the rigor of the curriculum, and it immediately began reshaping how I think, work, and lead.
Whenever I reflect on whether taking on that immense pressure was worth it, the answer is an undeniable yes. It was the best decision of my life.
The experience has completely transformed me as a person, and I have learned an immeasurable amount during my time in the program. I successfully navigated the difficult balancing act, pushed past my boundaries, and achieved exactly the growth I was looking for.
Finally, it all worked out, and I am incredibly proud to say that I am a Boothie. I plan to graduate in 2027.
